Most people have a list of hopes, dreams and goals they'd like to accomplish before they "kick the bucket." Why shouldn't it be the same for our cats? Here are 10 things that should be on every kitty's bucket list.
- Learn a Trick
Cats can be trained, it just takes more patience and finesse. Start with something simple like "sit" or "fetch."
- Have professional photos taken
Invite a professional photographer into your home to capture your cat in its natural environment. Getting a family picture (all pets included) is a great way to show your love for your feline friends!
- Rent a Movie
It might sound silly to most cat owners, but there is a wide selection of movies for your cat. Have a feline that likes to chase birds on your nature program? Why not get her a collection of her own films?
- Eat a Fancy Meal
Let your cat indulge in a fancy meal; if your cat normally eats dry food, spring for wet or canned food once or twice a year. Or, serve your cat on a nicer plate than usual on special occasions like holidays or birthdays. Humans like to break out the special china for such events, why not include your cat in that tradition?
- Get Out in Nature
While your cat might not want to go for a walk or a hike (or does she?), there are ways to allow your cat to experience nature. The best way is a large screened-in porch, where she can catch a breeze and watch the birds. Don't have a porch? How about building Fluffy a DIY Window Box?
- Nap in the Laundry
The first thing my cat does when I bring my laundry up is hop into the basket. I can't blame her...who wouldn't want to snuggle in warm clothes straight from the dryer?
- Catch a Mouse
If you're lucky enough not to have real mice in your basement or crawl space, having several mouse toys around the house can be a fun way to let your cat practice their predatory skills.
- Climb a Tower
Your cat knows better than to jump on counters or appliances, right? Why not splurge on a floor-to-ceiling cat tower that your kitty can scratch, jump on and climb. A little indoor playground like this would surely show your cat you care!
- Take a Nap on a Lap
Most cats probably don't have a problem crossing this off their bucket list! Instead of shooing your cat away, take a minute to relax with your kitty (and take a "cat nap" yourself)!
- Become famous on the Internet!
Does your cat have a great trick, a cute face, or a funny sound? Take a video and upload it to the Internet! YouTube is always a great start (especially if you're looking for fame)! Try Facebook if you're interested in showing off your favorite furry buddy to your own friends and family!
