Sloughi
Once you get a Sloughi, it is yours for life because they do not deal well with change. They are not noisy, and like most hounds they seem to have an affinity for children. They are independent dogs with a strong hunting instinct and stamina to match. Cats and other small animals are seen as prey to this dog, so early socialization is required. This is not a breed for someone who has little time.

Sloughi
This breed is truly a living piece of history that was revered by the Bedouin tribespeople. In the days of the great sheiks, the Sloughi was one of the most prized possessions a person could own as highly valued as an Arabian horse. The Bedouins decorated the Sloughi with talismans and amulets, and a tribesman would willingly give up his blanket to keep a Sloughi warm. When a Sloughi died, the hound was mourned with much dignity.
