Cairn Terrier
This is a cheerful, alert, lively and extroverted breed that is an ideal friend for children, as it can tolerate rough play and has a great sense of humor. They must be taught at an early age to accept cats and other household pets because they will eventually give chase.

Cairn Terrier
Cairns are natives of the western islands of Scotland, particularly the Isle of Skye. They have been known since the 1500’s. The breed was named after the rocks (cairns) that were erected to mark a boundary or grave. These rocks were the favorite hiding places for foxes and other pests, and a small but fearless terrier was required to rout them out.
